Both young ladies were inducted into National Junior Honors Society (NJHS) at Cimarron Middle School! This is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a middle school student. NJHS recognizes the total student—one who excels in all areas of scholarship (minimum of 3.73 GPA), Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship as demonstrated by activities and teacher evaluations. This is a very high honor and recognition of their years of hard work! Way to go ladies!
Maya breaks the Cimarron Middle School 9-year record for 6th/7th grade girls 1600 (1-mile) in track and field on April 15, 2024! Old record 6:00, Maya's new record 5:54. She also came in 2nd for the 1600 at the District Invitational!

UNE is a D3 school located off the coast of Maine in Biddeford and competes in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Nor'Easters have a rich history of success, appearing in 22 of the last 23 CCC Championships, and winning 8! They have also participated in the NCAA D3 Championships 9 times since 2000!

Joie came to the Lady Lightning after a disappointing experience with another club. Coach Sandy and teammates welcomed Joie with opens arms where she regained her confidence and blossomed as a player! Dealt with a back injury at the end of the season, Joie and family thought her bball career and dreams of playing college ball were all but over. But no, Joie with the support of her family, rehabbed her injury and got into the best shape ever! Way to go Joie! We are very proud of you! Good luck this season!

1.28.23-When Kayli Spall left another club and came over to the Lady Lightning in the Spring of 2022, she immediately began training twice a week exclusively w/Coach Sandy and Coach Brooke. Not only did Kayli become leading scorer for her AAU club team that Summer, but she is currently the leading scorer for the Ponderosa Mustangs averaging 19.9 pts per game in 2023 vs. 12.9 in 2022! And Kayli has had double digit scoring efforts in every game this season with a game high of 33! Kayli exudes success! So come train with the best!
